WHAT ARE RATCHET STRAPS USED FOR?

Ratchet Straps are used to hold down cargo on either a commercial vehicle or a trailer. These Tie Down Straps are designed to withhold the elements to ensure that the cargo that you are a carrying does not move within transport. They can be used in several different ways to tie down cargo to its applications, with it mainly being used for flatbed trucks, Lorries or trailers. Ratchet Straps are made from a Hardwearing Polyester webbing that helps to ensure that the cargo does not move within transit.

HOW LONG DO RATCHET STRAPS LAST?

Ratchet Straps are designed to take any pressure from the elements to ensure that your cargo stays put within transit. This will mean that the Ratchet Strap over time will lose its strength and need to be replaced. How long a Ratchet Strap lasts all depends on how much these are used and how bad the elements are. Ratchet Straps will wear down quicker if you are transporting cargo across the North Sea compared to local deliveries that are in land and not exposed to the weather as much. ATE would suggest that you change your Ratchet Strap at least every 4 weeks if you are using it daily. Though daily checks should be done on all equipment that you use to determine how safe it is. If you see that the webbing within your ratchet strap is wearing thin, then this means that it will need to be changed immediately for health and safety reasons
